Trail Description: Can be quite rocky on the mountain itself-if your horse is at all tender-footed, you will need to have shoes or boots. The Cowboy Trail and Overlook Trail are not for beginners-horses or riders. Parts can be strenuous. The Creek/Lake trail is much flatter and quite nice. Total trail mileage is approximately 16 miles-but none of it is flat! All of the trail is within the park and it is protected-which means lots of wildlife, old trees, and you MUST be able to read trail markers.

Cabins are available as well as "primitive" sites. Horses must be stabled at the stables for a fee. Georgia State Parks are well run and offer such amenities as fishing, swimming, hiking, paddle boats, canoes. The cabins usually have beds, kitchen ware, furniture, and are rather comfortable.
