Trail Description: All horse trails are on the north side of the Green River and the Park. They are pretty well maintained and very well marked. Alot of single file riding. This is true trail riding and not just gravel road riding. Some very beautiful scenery and some wildlife. There are rocky hills to climb up and come down on, streams to cross, logs to step over or jump over, depending on your horse, and mud holes to get through. The trails are traveled alot and are very visible. Be sure to get a map before heading out. There are other horse camp sites available that may provide a guide or keep the riders on the easier trails. This is ride on your own campground.

Plenty of room for campers, tents and trailer. 24 person capacity at each site. There are electric hook-ups and water spigot at sites #1 and #2 and only water spigots at sites #3 and #4. The park provides picnic tables, fire gates, chemical toilets and garbage dumpsters. There are hitching posts at the back of the campsites for your horses, but you must provide your own rope. Open March to November, the cost is $30 per night and you must have reservations. You can make reservations Online at www.Recreation.gov or by Phone at 1-800-365-CAMP, Phone 800-967-2283 Reservations are required. Maple Springs Campground check-in time is 12 noon and check-out time is 11am. There is a shower and store at the visitor center 3 miles south of campground, across The Green River Ferry. The ferry has a load limit of 8 tons. Please note that high or low water conditions may impede crossing, especially of motor homes or trailered units. The ferry is open from 6 a.m. to 9:55 p.m. daily, except when repairs or hazardous river conditions prevent operation. An alternate route to the campground via state and county roads is 35 miles from the Visitor Center.
