Trail Description: Scenic riding through the mountains of eastern Tennessee. Norris Dam is a TVA site that created a nice lake around which you ride. The terrain is hilly but not too steep as long as you stay on the marked horse trails. "Foot Traffic Only" signs are meant for people's feet, not horses. The people trails can be very narrow with overhangs and steep drop offs. Definitely not suited for even the most experienced horse and rider. The trails are fairly rocky so horses should be shod. Note that the park's website does not say anything about horse trails. But they're there!
The Miller Hollow Equestrian Center is not really a campground but there is sufficient level area next to the barn and arena for large as well as small rigs. They have a 75'x200' indoor arena and 32 boarding stalls. They also have a pasture in which you can turn out your horses...which we really appreciated after a long day in the trailer
