Trail Description: Marked trails are easy, except watch for bridges not horse friendly (2). Due to construction, it was initially difficult to find the trails. Saturday, the shared trail was crowded with hikers and bikers. Some of the horses were nervous about the bikes, but were desensitized by the end of the day. It was not as rocky as I expected. Since we went in October, we only saw one rattlesnake on the warmest day.
Behind the equestrian campsite are no trails, but horses are allowed. This area was challenging, with rocks and steep slopes, but the views were worth it.
Some horses had shoes and others had boots. Both worked well. One of the booted horses had some rubbing, but vet wrap helped.
The campsite was clean, had water, picnic tables, a fire ring, and 4 enclosures (no latches on the gates so bring something to keep the gate closed).
