Every year Trot for Tots host its annual Poker Ride (Benefit for Vanderbilt Children's Hospital) on this trail. This trail provides you with watering holes for horse (careful not to over water as the lake is cool) Shade Tress along the trail and several nice picnic spot. The Highland Wilderness Trail leaves the lake and heads for the rough back country. You will travel along old logging roads, dirt roads, and paths from other riders. You will see many wet springs and lots of wildlife. There is plenty of shade and breathtaking views from a top the hills. This Trails is about 15 miles long. There are primitive camping sites at both entrances. If you need electric h/u, Burke's Campground is next to the trails. Feel free to visit Trot for Tots website as you plan your summer visit. www.trinity-stables.blogspot.com

There are several primitive sites at both ends of the Lowland trail. The End of the lowland trail is where the Highland trail starts. This area is where most riders camp. It is down Hollimans Bend at the end. There is 1 picnic shelter offered for larger groups. Each camp site has picnic tables, in ground grills, stationary trash cans, and horse tie outs. There are also portable toilets. If you need electric h/u then Burke's Campground is the next lot over from the two trails.
