Trail Description: Trails cover much of the entire San Pedro Parks system and includes the recently developed and much touted Continental Divide Trail. Trails wander through Pines,Oaks, and high elevation Aspens. Wildlife includes deer and elk. At the higher elevations, open grassy areas known as "Vegas" are park-like settings perfect for an afternoon lunch stop. Hence, the name San Pedro Parks.
Wide open, fairly level grassy area with easy access surrounded by Pine trees. Horse stream in middle of campground, but bring potable water. Port-a-potties scattered
through-out (5) and are clean. Forest Service allows high-lining or portable corrals. There is one small corral. Trailheads (2) right in campground include Corralitos and Vega Redonda. Close by is the Rio Puerco trailhead. Be sure to read the signs posted near the trailheads.
