Trail Description |
A well defined trail for non-motorized travel goes from the camp area to the San Francisco lakes, via the middle fork. To make a full loop you can return via the West fork, but this is a multi use trail where motor vehicles are allowed. An altitude climb of approx. 2000 ft. in about 9 miles offers spectacular views. The trail winds through, Aspen glades, Pine and Spruce forests to Bristolcone pine near timberline. Elk, deer and smaller game are often sighted. Trail is rocky in most areas. Trail maintained by Trailwise Back Country Horsemen and USFS. |
