Trail Description |
There is a 32 mile perimeter trail that circles the entire park, which trail ranges from flat fields to very steep hills. A day park area, which is next to a primitive campsite, has access to trails of various degrees of difficulty. There is something for everyone. After a lot of rain or snow, the trails are quite muddy and the hill trails can be treacherous. Since the soil is mostly clay, the trails take a very long dry spell to completely dry up, which is rare. |

Directions |
The Campsite & day park area is accessed from State Route 32, take the Front Wheel Drive exit off 32, which is east of Batavia and west of Williamsburg. Take the exit to Old State Route 32 and turn left (if you are eastbound off 32, you will turn right at the end of the exit, travl a short distance to a light, turn left, then left again at the next light onto Old 32)(if you are westbound, you will go through the first light after the exit to the second light, then turn left onto Old 32). Watch for the Park entrance on your right, just past the Gold Star Chili restaurant (on the left). Turn right into the Park. The Park Campground is approximately 1/2 mile on the left and the day park area is about another 1/2 mile past that on the left. You may park for the day in the Park Campground, for a fee, even if you don't stay the night. At the day park area, there are trail heads on both sides of the road and a crude map of the trails on a posting board next to the parking lot. |
