Trail Description: This are 21.75 miles, with lots of loops of various lengths, of groomed trails established for horses. Footing is excellent, a mix of sand, clay, pine needles and grass. Numerous water crossings. Riders of all ages will encounter the south Mississippiu Coastal Plains wildlife and scenery. There are multiple points of access including a former World War II German Prisoner of War Camp (along the Red Trail Loop). Facilities include a trailhead with primitive campsites, pipe hitch stalls, picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water for horses (at a watering hole about 100 feet southwest of the campground), and a vault toilet.
Open area with lots of tall pine trees for highlining, as well as areas with picnic tables, pipe stalls, etc. Not really designated, about 4-5 acres of space around a gravel loop. Water available at Ranger maintenance station or Airey Lake Campground, both about a mile north on Airey Tower Road.
