Trail Description Many mile of beauiful mountain trails into the Carson-Iceberg Wilderness Area. Overnight rides as well as long day rides. Also trailer to Kennedy Meadows and other Emingrant Wilderness trailheads with 10 to 20 miles giving you access to many more wonderful miles of wilderness trails. Moderate to difficult, 6400 to 10,000 feet elevation

Campground Located next to the Clarks Fork of the Stanislaus River in pines and grassland. No water or showers in camp. Available in adjacent campground. Pit toilets, picnic tables, fire pits,Group area. Some sites can handle large trailers. Highlines, picketing and portable corrals ok. Popular camp. Easy access to Carson-Iceberg

Directions From Sonora, take Hwy 108 east, about 50 miles, five miles short of Dardanelles, to Clarks Fork turn off. 6 miles to Clarks Fork Campground. Follow signs to horse camp behind regular campground.

(Gently sloping or level terrain; trails are groomed or wide open; shallow or no creek crossings. ) 
 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes) 
 Rigorous (Easy to More Difficult for rider but physically challenging for horse such as on a level surface through deep sand) 
 Challenging (Possible rocky, uneven surface, steep slopes, uncleared trails, faster flowing streams and other obstacles that lead to more difficult riding for rider and horse)
