Trail Description |
Trails are marked pretty good. Lots of diversity, not too rocky but great mountain riding. Cougar Pass is not for a beginner but most of them are good trails with scenic water falls and great mountain views although you will encounter a few steep slopes. The river may be hard to cross if there is lots of snow run off. It will be higher to cross in the late evening hours. Lots of deadfall so be prepared at times for that on the trail. |

Campground |
Primitive camping, can camp in the open by the corrals or go down further to camp in more shady spots but would have to picket or set horse pens. There is a hand pump in the people campground that you can get potable water for a small fee. Plenty of water for the horses at the river which is not too far away from the camping area. Gorgeous mountain views from camp. |

Directions |
Go north east on Horse Creek Road 24 miles all the way into the campground. Road does have some u turn curves, but we made it fine with a 42 ft trailer and 46 ft trailer. There are some steep drop offs along the side but nothing too hairy. |
