| Trail Description |
The 12 mile Iron Mtn Trail is a multi-use trail open to horses, bikes and hiker. After crossing over into Tennessee where it merges with the Conasauga River trail, the trail makes a large loop back towards Cottonwood Patch campground. Other trails accessible from Cottonwood Patch include Beech Bottom (4 mi), East Cowpen (7 mi), Hickory Creek (8 mi), Horseshoe Bend (3.5 mi),Sumac (12 mi) and Rice Camp (4 mi). Trails are rocky and shoes would be recommended for horses. |

Year-round, primitive camping in a shady, open field with no designated campsites. Fire rings are scattered throughout the area and nice, vault toilets and drinking water are available as well. There is a watering trough for horses and hitching posts for picket lines - bring your own rope. Camping is $8 per vehicle per night. |

From Atlanta take I-75 north to exit 293 Chatsworth/White. Go north on Hwy 411 to Chatsworth, about 45 minutes from the interstate. Continue on 411 about 11 miles to Ciscoe, GA. Continue past Cisco about 5 miles (you will cross into Tennessee, but will loop back into GA to the campground). Turn right onto Ladd Springs Rd for 9 miles, staying right at the fork in the road. Turn right and go across a big, steel bridge and continue less than 1 mile to Cottonwood Patch Campground on the right. |
