Trail Description |
This is the best State Park in KS for horseback riders. The trails range from eaisly to more difficult, there are 10 water crossings. Trails wind through canyons, pastures and wooded areas. You can ride without seeing power lines, cars and most often other people. These trails were designated the Millennium Legacy Trail for the state of Kansas. Sections of the trail are closed from Nov. 1 thru Jan. 31st, the sections that are closed during this time are in an area that is open to hunting, this is for rider safety. Be aware that when the lake level is high the water crossings can get quite deep and at times sections of the trails are closed due to high water. Contact Kanopolis State Park for brochures; 785-546-2565 or kanopolissp@wp.state.ks.us |
