Trail Description |
This segment of the trail stretches along the AuSable River, and has scenic overlooks, cedar swamps, and is one of the more challenging; offering hills, bridges, and many rocks along the trail. The south branch of the AuSable River is within easy walking distance from the camp, but horses are banned from the banks because of erosion potential. . The Michigan Riding & Hiking Trail leaves the far end
of the group camp, up the hill, East, toward the River Road camp, or down the hill, West, toward McKinley.
