Trail Description Breath taking views,rough in areas. Have your horse in shape.Worth every minute! Cimarrona and Williams Creek Trail Heads right from camp. Recommend hauling to Trail Heads at Poison Park (20 minutes) and the Piedra River Trail (30 minutes) a MUST, Don't miss that ride!
Best Time to Visit June-Oct Note:Blow downs early in season block trails and high water
Times to Avoid Winter!
Campground Corrals, tie racks, parking suitable for big rigs on aprons, pull through/back in, tent pads, fire rings, Shade, 2 hose bibbs, large water troth and pit toilets, manure dump, garbage dumpster. No Showers. (This is also used as a Hunters base camp). Campground Host on site. New camp, well maintained, replaces previous dispersed camping in meadows no longer allowed.

Directions From Pagosa Springs 160, go North on Piedra Road 25 miles(Maintained dirt Road after 8 miles)just past Cimarona Campground to Williams Creek trail head, Campground on right.

Notes on Difficulty Rating:  
 Easy
(Gently sloping or level terrain; trails are groomed or wide open; shallow or no creek crossings. ) 
 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes) 
 Rigorous (Easy to More Difficult for rider but physically challenging for horse such as on a level surface through deep sand) 
 Challenging (Possible rocky, uneven surface, steep slopes, uncleared trails, faster flowing streams and other obstacles that lead to more difficult riding for rider and horse)
