Trail Description Pacific Crest Trail-2,600 miles,High Trail, meadow Lake Trail, and River Trail access the Ansel Adams Wilderness and it's network of trails and the Devils Post Pile National Monument.

Campground Located in the eastern Sierra, west of Mammoth Lakes. Campground is situated in a lodgepole pine forest, at an elevation of 8,240 feet. Restrooms are provided. You must have saddle and/or pack stock to camp in this campground. Two vehicles are allowed per site, including the horse trailer. Sites have one hitching rail, and no corrals or watering trough. All visitors to the Reds Meadow Valley area may be required to pay an access fee. Visitors should check with the Forest Service at the Mammoth Visitors Center (760) 924-5500 for 2005 fees, regulations and shuttle bus schedules.

 Easy
(Gently sloping or level terrain; trails are groomed or wide open; shallow or no creek crossings. ) 
 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes) 
 Rigorous (Easy to More Difficult for rider but physically challenging for horse such as on a level surface through deep sand) 
 Challenging (Possible rocky, uneven surface, steep slopes, uncleared trails, faster flowing streams and other obstacles that lead to more difficult riding for rider and horse)
