Trail Description |
The camp connects to the Jefferson National Forest, providing miles of accessible trails. The trails range in difficulty from easy to difficult, with several being gravel Forest Service Roads and well-groomed paths through the forest. Detailed trail maps are provided showing the marked trails and different obstacles that will be encountered. |

Campground |
Hungry Horse East, LLC is a quiet, family campground with 14 spacious and shady campsites, all adjacent to the creek. Amenitites include two bathhouses, water and electric at each site, fire rings, and two barns, which house a total of 30 10'x10' stalls. |

Directions |
From the Galax/Hillsville area I-77
-Take exit 14/HWY 58 West
-Go 13.5 miles and turn right on 94 North toward Fries
-Go 4.2 miles, 94 North turns right at River Side Store
-Continue on 94 North 4.6 miles to Fries
-94 North turns left at entrance to town
-Continue 5.4 miles
-Turn left on Brush Creek Road/Rd. 602 (before Brush Creek Store)
-Hungry Horse East is 2.1 miles from that intersection
-Turn left at the sign pictured below
From the Fort Chiswell/Max Meadows area I-81
-Take exit 80/US 52 South toward Hillsville
-Go 1.2 miles and turn right on 94 South toward Ivanhoe
-Continue 12.5 miles then turn right on Scratch Gravel Road/Rd. 738
-Continue to stop sign, then turn right on Brush Creek Road
-Go 0.6 miles then turn left into Hungry Horse East at the sign pictured below
