| Trail Description |
Trails are nice and shaded, wide enough to ride side by side, small creek crossing, some hills ( not to steep ) long straight aways. This place is great training for endurance training or gaited horses. Plenty of long straight aways for jogging, trotting and lopeing. |

Maddox Horse Camp is primitive only. You must bring your own water. Camp is nicely shaded and level with plenty of trees for picketing.
Camping and trail use are free year round for horses. Horses are allowed during hunting season but rider BEWARE! Hunting season for the Park is Nov-Jan 31. But the roads through the park are driveable and very nice to ride.
Trail system on the map is about 15 miles, but the nice dirt roads add alot more mileage.

From Prattville travel hwy 82 east go through Maplesville, AL. Turning left on Co Rd 183 towards Marion, AL.
From Centerville travel west towards Brent, AL turning right on Co Rd 183, towards Marion, AL
Once you make this turn travel about 1/2 mile pass the white babptist church with a graveyard on the left. Turn left Co Rd 307. 307 will eventually turn into a gravel road. This gravel road is FOREST ROAD 418. Stay straight for 2 miles. When you see the sign that says, "Narrow Road" there will be a fork in the road, bare RIGHT, and continue on FOREST ROAD 418. Maddox Horse camp is a mile or so down on the right. Happy Trails! |
