Trail Description 28 miles of horse trails, generally several degrees cooler than the lower part of SC. Shady trails without too much volunteer trail damage and minimal re-routing on gravel. Fat and old horses may want to skip these trails as the climbs can be long and occasionally a bit steep. River crossing of the Chattooga river are beautiful. Novice riders may find the ride intimidating. Ride a counter clockwise loop and parallel the river to watch canoes, rafts, and kayaks drifting along. BEWARE, rains on this steep terrain can make rivers rise several feet in a few hours!
Best Time to Visit Other than holidays, very quiet.
Times to Avoid 4th of July, other holidays. No camp host, gets rowdy with drunks on holidays.
