Trail Description As of 6/2017, these trails are all blocked by huge, fallen trees. Seven bridle trails also allow hiking or running:Whetstone Trail - 0.31 mi, easyMeadow Trail - 0.6 mi, easyMaple Grove Trail - 0.57 mi, moderateHorse/Trailer staging area is on St. Rte 42 and is easy to miss. Very quiet, few trail riders. Trails range from very easy to difficult, unfortunately they are not marked very well as you get further from the staging area.1/2017Piney Woods Loop Trail - 1.5 mi, moderate (Temporarily unavailable due to lake improvements)Sams Creek Trail - 1 mi, moderate (Temporarily unavailable due to lake improvements)Lakeside Trail - 1.7 mi, moderate to difficult (Temporarily unavailable due to lake improvements)Fern Ridge Trail - 1 mi, difficult. SMALL PARKING AREA, DIFFICULT TO TURN AROUND. AMENITIES: 2 PICNIC TABLES, MOUNTING PLATFORM. NO WATER, RESTROOMS OR TIE UPS.

Directions Horse trailer entrance is on the State Route 42 side and is very difficult to see. GPS address is 5463 State Route 42, Mt. Gilead No sign! Just a gravel driveway with a metal gate that is usually open. Do not try to enter on the State Route 95 side!
