Trail Description DuPont State Forest is one of the newest and most scenic forests in NC to ride your horse, bike or hike. Trails weave through Rhododendron tunnels, go past picturesque waterfalls, climb to scenic vistas and cross a covered bridge. Many picnic areas with convenient and safe tie outs for your horse. Dupont is in the heart of the land of the waterfalls

Campground Spur of the Moment is a 3 bedroom/2 bath comfortably furnished cottage across from Dupont State Recreational Forest for equestrians, mountain bikers and hikers. The house sits well off the road and is private. Ride or walk a short distance across the road onto a safe trail leading directly into the Forest at the Lake Imaging trailhead. Paddocks on site. Barn with 12x12 stalls next door.

 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes) 
 Rigorous (Easy to More Difficult for rider but physically challenging for horse such as on a level surface through deep sand) 
 Challenging (Possible rocky, uneven surface, steep slopes, uncleared trails, faster flowing streams and other obstacles that lead to more difficult riding for rider and horse)
